Make Two Sterling Silver or 14ct Gold Filled Fidget Rings
Fingers that fidget? Not keen on the width of a traditional spinner ring? Join me in this new evening ring making class where you will learn to make two fidget rings in a choice of sterling silver or gold filled.
This Edinburgh based jewellery experience is aimed at complete beginners who have never made any jewellery before. Participants must be 14 or over and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult who is also doing the workshop. Each workshop has a maximum of 5 people, you can book as an individual or a group. You will leave the class with two fidget rings.
This two and a half hour evening jewellery class is perfect for getting together with friends to do something creative, equally great to arrive solo and make new friends! It’s based in my cosy little Edinburgh workshop and we will finish the evening with hot drinks (cool drinks if the evenings get warm enough!) and homemade cake whilst your finished ring polishes.
During the class I will cover:
- how to size your fingers
- shaping and forming the rings
- sawing to create the perfect join
- soldering
- adding the fidget bead or linking two rings
- filing and sanding for a beautiful finish
- adding texture
- polishing
The price includes the sterling silver required to make two sterling silver rings, if you wish to make a gold filled ring, there is a additional charge of £10 payable per ring at the time of booking, see the drop down options above. I cannot guarantee I will have gold filled ready in the class for anyone who hasn’t selected it at checkout. Gold filled wire has a base metal core surrounded in a thick layer of 14ct gold, giving you gold to enjoy wearing but for a more reasonable price than solid gold. It has a much thicker layer of gold than gold plating, making it more durable and your creations should remain looking good for years to come.
I will have a selection of sterling silver and gold filled beads or sterling silver and gold filled jump rings to add to your ring to give the fidget element.
You may wish to bring an apron to wear, although it’s not essential.

Who is your tutor
I have been working full time as a jeweller since 2009 and enjoy teaching as a way to support my practice. In my previous career, I worked in a role conducting training courses and I love the ability to combine both skill sets. I keep my classes small at a maximum of 5 participants so I have time to support you individually. I like my classes to be a fun, informative and creative environment, I hope you enjoy your workshop!
